London Ale Taster

And the winner of the City of London Ale Taster competition is .......

Me !

.....fanfare.....appluase.....cheers......general acclaim ......

I pitched my taste buds against five other beer lovers at The Old Spitalfields Market this afternoon and after four flights of four beers trying to identify each beer, followed by a one minute speech I was the overall winner and will now hold the title of City of London Ale Taster for the coming year.

Cheers all - more on this to follow, I dare say.

Fantastic news - it was so good to see someone I 'know' win the competition!

Well done! I entered but didn't get shortlisted sadly. This was my entry, written in poem form if you're interested!

Congratulations.

I must confess that watching others drink beer was not really what I call a spectator sport. However, the Redemption brewery's Urban Dusk certainly helped pass the time.

Your presentation was a real rabble rousing speech but I would have knocked at least two marks off your score for your poor taste in shirts.

Thanks all. I think it was the shirt wot-won-it :-) Steve

I have already put this on facebook but I will say it again. Many many congratulations. What kudos for you, beer in London and Camra. The job certainly went to the best person. I look forward to hearing about your adventures on here.
