I have done them in the past with brown vinegar (as Deliah suggests) so that they take on the brown colour. Add either lots of chilli flakes or Tabasco sauce to the vinegar to zizz it up a bit. Not sure I could ever wait 4-6 weeks to eat them, perhaps I need a rota system with a jar aging and a jar being eaten.John Paul Adamsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8053477267298820967.post-30957221734229239332009-04-18T19:43:00.000+01:002009-04-18T19:43:00.000+01:00Like maltesers, horlicks and whisky, I lose sight ...Like maltesers, horlicks and whisky, I lose sight of vinegar's very close relation to beer. Though some of the best (worst ?) vinegars I have tasted were once beer. The Beer Justicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14418201851697711865noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8053477267298820967.post-28373195337641483032009-04-18T19:04:00.000+01:002009-04-18T19:04:00.000+01:00Save them for the Press Office @ Gbbf - their afte...Save them for the Press Office @ Gbbf - their after effects should lend a fragrant aroma to the studio at 0700 am!Brew Waleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05292297218879265192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8053477267298820967.post-7656405707469807812009-04-18T15:30:00.000+01:002009-04-18T15:30:00.000+01:00Just chuck in cold malt vinegar, a couple of dried...Just chuck in cold malt vinegar, a couple of dried chillies, coriander seeds and four cloves. The eggs get a dodgy brown hue in a couple of weeks.

I would have thought malt would fit better for a beer blog, but what do I know!Delilah Smith (not related to Delia)noreply@blogger.com
